Lakeside Lavender and Herbs, LLC
273 W Johnson Rd
La Porte, IN 46350
We are a start up agricultural enterprise dedicated to a healthier lifestyle. We endeavor to share with those in our community, whether near or far, the benefits of a more natural way of doing things. We grow pesticide and herbicide free and are dedicated to cultivation without chemicals. To keep your costs low, we are not organic certified. We are a small acreage farm, currently tending approximately two acres in small plots and manicured beds that are planted and harvested by hand to assure peak flavor and freshness.
When we purchase items that we cannot grow, we are careful to seek out vendors that subscribe to our values of chemical free farming, non-GMO, or ethically wild harvested practices. Our prepared products are made by hand with all natural ingredients to bring you the absolute healthiest product available.
We have begun this journey as a labor of love. Many people have helped us along the way. Go to our blog, "Herb'n Dish" to see a short video of our humble beginnings.
Mike and Doreen
Owners, Grower, Herbalist
Members, International Herb Association
Doreen graduated from Indiana University with a degree in allied health science. After many years of working in the medical laboratory, she took a position in healthcare management. A lifelong gardener, Doreen brings both her scientific nature and love of plants to Lakeside Lavender and Herbs. She is a trained herbalist, studying under Demetria Clark at the Heart of Herbs school of herbal education. She continues to study with a goal of achieving master herbalist with a focus on complimentary medicine.
Mike served his community through a career in law enforcement. He later worked in retail sales and management. It was only after a health scare that he turned his attention to what he wanted to do for a living rather than what he had always done. He brings that liberation and sense of purpose to everything he does at Lakeside Lavender and Herbs.
Fresh herbs, fresh air, and the desire to share a better way motivates both Mike and Doreen as they revive traditions of growing food, knowing food, and using food as medicine.
